Brass bands may not be able to compete with the whirring guitars of indie rock but their songs definitely can. Rebirth Brass Band is on the forefront of bringing the style back into popular music. If the name sounds familiar, you probably watch a lot of HBO. The band appeared on the series Tremé, putting them on an upward journey from playing on street corners to selling out music halls.  Rebirth Brass Band’s upcoming album Rebirth of New Orleans shows the band’s journey to this point and their take on the revival of the genre. It’s loud, it’s lively, and the band makes the music come alive with each ringing note.
