Mad Planet release Gliese 581g, prep SXSW show

The duo from Mad Planet are a quite the genre benders. Described as electronic/trip hop/funk power, Mad Planet are following up their debut album All Elephants with an equally spacey Gliese 581g, which sounds like some sort of element found in the dorky video games I so often play.

Wikipedia tells me, however, that Gliese 581g is actually a planet that is completely dark on one side and completely light on the other. The idea of extreme light and darkness is something the band was trying to create with Gliese 581g. The album. The haunting voice of Cooper Gillespie fits perfectly with the Sunday afternoon layers of computers, bass and drums. Have a listen to Mad Planet’s “I Want You” below. And check them out at these tour dates – including SXSW.
