Spielberg’s “Lincoln” finds its star
Remember that Abraham Lincoln biopic that Steven Spielberg was circling a while back? Originally, Liam Neeson was signed on to play one of the all-time great American presidents, but the project took too long to get rolling and Neeson walked. Now, although he’s also signed on to direct Robopocalypse and the adaptation of the Belgian comic Tintin, Spielberg is still very much planning on having Lincoln out by 2012. And who will be playing the impeccably bearded leader?
Daniel Day-Lewis.
The infamously picky, reclusive actor will be starring after his Oscar-winning turn in There Will Be Blood and his far less well-received role in Nine which featured a surprisingly terrible Italian accent. Filming is slated to begin in late 2011 after Robopocalypse is done.
